Lazy Sundays

So I've realized that though Saturday is my favorite day of the week, i.e. get to sleep in and no work the next day, Sunday tends to be the day of the week when I actually get to just chill at home and stay in my jammies all day long if I want to. I love lazy Sundays!

I've also come to the realization that my 10 (soon to be 11) year old daughter loves lazy Sundays almost more than I do. I told her she needed to clean her room today or there'd be no slumber party for her birthday. What does she do? She stomps off to her room, tears in eyes, stomp in step, and promptly slams her door behind her.... really? Obviously, I've interrupted HER lazy Sunday!! By gosh I should have known better than to ask her to do ANYTHING on a Sunday.

All 10 yr old tantrums aside, she's a good kid. It took her all of about 20 mins to clean up her room. Granted, not clean to my standards, but clean none the less. She's growing and developing so fast that my head is spinning. She's already got my "monthly" mood swings and holy crap! Get the heck out of the way and just keep your mouth shut if don't want to see the water works begin! The tears are almost nonstop these days. Trying to get the hubby to understand that she's got hormones surging, doesn't help. And I'll admit, I get frustrated too. I just have to keep telling myself, "only another 8 years... only another 8 years!!" LOL!! Who am I frickin kidding? She's an only child. She'll live at home forever!!
